The vast majority of OCSCCs are conventional squamous-type carcinomas, reflecting their cell of origin. Other less commonly encountered variants include papillary , adenosquamous, acan - tholytic, basaloid, spindle cell and verrucous carcinomas, along with carcinoma cuniculatum.
