# Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging

Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging

mpMRI is an investigation to diagnose an early prostate cancer that might reduce overdiagnosis of insignificant pros - tate cancer. Here dynamic contrast is given and should have four sequences: T1-weighted imaging, T2-weighted imaging, di ff usion-weighted imaging and dynamic contrast-enhanced imaging and spectroscopic imaging. The accuracy of mpMRI in localising and staging prostate cancer shows a high degree of variation between reporting radiologists. Interpretation and reporting of mpMRI must be carried out following stan dardised scoring systems (such as Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System [PI-RADS] v .2). A score of 3 or above is indicative of malignancy .
