Leukaemia

Leukaemia should be considered in the di ﬀ erential diagnosis of splenomegaly . The diagnosis is made by examining a blood or bone marrow ﬁlm. Splenectomy is reserved for hypersplenism that occurs during the chronic phase of chronic granulocytic leukaemia.
