Other peptic ulcers
A prepyloric gastric ulcer was in the past di ffi cult to treat, a problem overcome with the introduction of PPIs. Pyloric chan nel ulcers are similar to duodenal ulcers. Both prepyloric and pyloric ulcers may be malignant and biopsy is essential. Stomal ulcers occur after a gastroenterostomy (now most commonly found after bariatric surgery; see Chapter 68 ) or a gastrectom of the Billroth II type. The ulcer is usually found on the jejunal side of the stoma.
